Sreekantha Educational Institutions was established in 1963 at Mysuru for promoting girl’s education under the management of Sreekantha Samskriti Sangha, Mysuru.
More than five decades ago a visionary in Mysore Pandit K.N. Varadaraja Iyengar thought of this initiative to give more emphasis on girl’s education.
K.N. Varadaraja Iyengar, a Sanskrit scholar and founder editor of SUDHARMA the only Sanskrit newspaper in the world. He with the help of other philanthropists such as Sahukar Thimappa, B. Narayana Swami, N. Srinivas Murthy. M.S. Ramaswamy, Y.S Venkatranga Iyengar and D. Krishna Iyengar founded this institution in 1963.
This had the blessings of then HH Sri Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swami and support of the Mysore Royal family. The institution started exclusively to cater for girl’s education with High school in 1963. It also added Primary school, PU College, Arts & Commerce Degree College and Sanskrit Pathashala in the course of time. In 1994, after the demise of our founder K.N. Varadaraja Iyengar in his memory Sri.K.N Varadaraja Iyengar Memorial Trust was formed to run this institution replacing Sreekantha Samskriti Sangha. The institution is currently managed by Trustees who are Educationists, Retired Government officials, Industrialists and eminent advocates.
Today, Sreekantha Educational Institutions continues to stands for quality in education, trust & assurance, clean, safe & hygienic facilities,. We continue to thrive in providing modern education to all our students and work to expand our reach to the remote parts of the city and villages in and around Mysuru.
